Acacia Plumbing now extends its range of quality services to include the water wise water audit. With wide spread water restrictions common place across Australia we all have a responsibility to ensure we use water wisely. The water audit identifies the points inside and outside the home where you can reduce water and power usage. On average you can lower your water usage by as much as 100,000 litres per year which is great for the environment and which also saves you lots of money.

New laws also allow landlords to pass on the full water consumption costs to tenants provided all the minimum criteria has been met.
Landlords will be able to pass on the full water consumption cost to tenants if:
• The rental premises are individually metered (or water is delivered by vehicle), AND
• The rental premises are water efficient, AND
• The tenancy agreement states that tenants must pay for water consumption.

A water efficient rental premises must meet the performance standards for a *3 star WELS rating or higher. These water efficiency levels may be achieved through installing 3 star WELS rated products or through the use of ‘add on’ devices, such as aerators or flow restrictors on taps shower heads and toilets.
